Nancy Baird Brown

Nancy Baird Brown is a second career elementary teacher with a passion for women’s history. Brown grew up in the same town, and on the same street, as Elizabeth Cady Stanton, but was not taught anything about her. This prompted her to become one of three incorporators of The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association in Johnstown, New York. She is currently the secretary of the organization, and is the author of “The Walk in the Footsteps of Elizabeth Cady Stanton” walking and cell phone tour in Johnstown, and the creator of “The Reflections Collection,” an ongoing display about ECS’s life at the site. Brown also serves on the 2020 Women’s Vote Centennial Initiative Task Force. She holds a BA from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, and an MS from The College of St. Rose in Albany, New York.
